"Let's Get Comfortable"
The world is constantly changing and so are students. These never-ending changes cause students to wrestle with new perspectives and problems that can leave them frustrated and overwhelmed. Overwhelmed students can create overwhelmed and confused educators, who struggle to relate. Every educator may not be qualified to solve all student problems, but every educator is more than qualified to explore student perspectives and problems and create a “comfortable space” for all students to develop the confidence to grow in their own skin.
Through working with students and educators all across the country, Tony has found proactive ways to create that “comfortable space” …
In this session, educators will learn:
1) Why it’s important to create an environment where students are comfortable being themselves.
2) What a “comfortable space" looks like.
3) How to create that “comfortable space” while still challenging students to grow.
BACKGROUND.
At the age of 22, Tony became the Principal of a private elementary school in St. Louis, MO. Within his two years of serving students and parents, the school experienced an increase in enrollment and revenue, advancement of curriculum, and an enlarged reach in many St. Louis communities. Making the decision to step down from his administrative role, he then transitioned from the school setting in 2016 and founded Tony Thompson, Inc. Tony uses motivational speaking, school programming, and professional development to aid educators. Tony Thompson, Inc. has impacted tens of thousands of students and eductors from all over the United States.
